Liberty was born out of a need to bridge a gap in homeschool sports between Grand Rapids, Lansing and Kalamazoo. There has been a large influx of homeschoolers in the area after many public schools started pushing mandates and beliefs on children that parents could not turn their backs on any longer. With limited options for private schooling, many families have turned to homeschooling and struggle to find sports for their children that doesn't involve extensive travel for practices. While there will be travel for games and tournaments, practices will be held locally in the Barry County area. As a new organization we are still working through a lot of details and will, Lord willing, provide several sports for both boys and girls. We will strive to provide a Christian environment for our families and teach our players that playing and participating in sports can bring glory to God even while being competitive.
About Us
Why Choose Liberty
Our goal is to have an ultimately transparent organization where the parents, players, staff and coaches know exactly what to expect and that is exactly what they get. We will not run a board of directors where things are decided without input from those most important to the club, it's families. We plan to run a volunteer base organizational staff and coaching staff. We truly believe that having people running each sport that have knowledge in both participating and coaching will give our players the best chance for success. Pre-season open gyms, individual skills clinics, conditioning, and strength training for our upper levels will ensure athletes are in a healthy physical shape to perform their best. With each level there will be an opportunity to mentor a younger level player in which you'll be able to cheer on and form a bond with throughout the season and seasons to come. It is our goal to not just raise athletes, but to raise athletes with intention and purpose while learning leadership along the way. We value the talents God has so graciously gifted us and will teach our athletes, young and old, how to play competitively while still honoring ourselves and God.

Liberty HSP is looking for directors to lead Boys & Girls Volleyball, Boys and Girls Basketball, Boys & Girls Track & Field, and Boys Baseball/Girls Softball. These positions will be a role in which you are free to run the program how you envision as long as the values, morals and leadership are in line with Liberty's goals. This will be a collaboration with the director then freedom to follow where God calls you to lead the program. We are seeking individuals that have experience playing/participating and coaching the sport and that have a firm foundation of faith. You don't necessarily need to have experience running a program, but a passion to teach, coach, disciple and pour Christ's love into our youth are a must. There won't be a need to handle any of the back end of things, just focusing your energy on building up the homeschool program and helping our players and coaches become the best version of themselves. These will be paid positions. If you or someone you know may be interested in one of our open program director or coaching positions, please contact the club director, Sara Klaasen, for further conversation.
